A Season of Fundraising for Temple Park Centre
It soon comes round. Can you believe that Lisa Wigfield has been Community Cohesion and Outreach Worker for Manor Church and Community Project at Temple Park Centre for almost three years? MCCP trustees are working hard to secure grant funding to enable her to remain in post for the next three years. They already have over 50% of the necessary funding from the Methodist Circuit, Diocesan Grants Committee and the URC Yorkshire Synod Mission which are all happy to continue supporting and funding Lisa’s work with the Manor community. However, they still need to secure just over £47,000 for peace of mind for the next three years. They are currently in discussion with new grant funders about fulfilling this role.
At the same time, they are applying for funding to replace the two leaky flat roofs at the back left-hand side of Temple Park Centre, install a new suspended ceiling in one room to replace a water damaged ceiling and find urgent ventilation solutions to improve the air quality for all users throughout the centre.
It’s been wonderful for them to partner with MASKK this past year as MASKK installed a new kitchenette to support children in their activities and a new bespoke soft play frame in the building. Together they’ve also installed a new set of front doors (that won’t leak when it rains) and new fire exits and accessible external pathways that meet updated fire regulations.
Check out their latest video where Lisa and Claire (trustee) talk about plans for the next three years. They’re calling it ‘The Branching Out’ project, to build on the amazing work Lisa (and Simon Loveitt before her) did to ‘prepare the ground’ and ‘plant seeds’ in building relationships of trust with local people and partnerships.
Please consider giving towards these community initiatives and improvement projects. Just click here to donate or contact them if you know of grant funders who would look favourably on an application.
