Intro: Manor Parish is very happy to welcome couples living within the parish to have their wedding in one of our churches. If you don’t live in the parish you may still be able to have your wedding with us if you can show any of these connections.

Your wedding service needs to cover the legal aspects of getting married and be a commitment in the sight of God, but there are various ways in which the service can be tailored to make it personal to each individual couple using music and readings etc. We want your wedding to be a special occasion that is meaningful and special for you.

The process: When your wedding is booked and the deposit paid we will arrange to read your Banns on three separate Sundays in church, and you are invited to attend at least one of the services to hear them read. Banns will also need to be read in your home parish if you don’t live in Manor Parish, but we can advise you on that if necessary.

In the months before your wedding you will be invited to a Wedding Preparation session along with other couples getting married with us. This is an opportunity to discuss the wedding and any ideas you have for personalising your service. You will be guided through the service and what will happen with an opportunity to ask questions. A date will also be fixed for a wedding rehearsal.

At the wedding rehearsal a full walk through of the service is given and any final details checked. You can invite other members of your wedding party to attend e.g. bridesmaids, best man, parents etc. who may find this chance to familiarise themselves with the service useful. It’s also a good time to check the practicalities of how the service will work on the day.

What next? If you would like to meet and book a date for your wedding please ring the Parish Office on 0114 2780707 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
